A calmer way to browse.

Kasumi is a browser for Mac with vertical tabs, Spaces, split view and one command bar. It’s built natively in SwiftUI on top of WebKit.

Version 0.15.0 for Apple Silicon Macs on macOS 14 or later.

Two layouts. Keep the one you think in.

Put your tabs down the side like Arc and Zen, or along the top like Chrome and Safari. You choose in the first-run welcome and can switch any time in Settings.

  • Pinned tabs, folders and drag to reorder
  • Spaces with their own color, icon, cookies and logins, like separate profiles. Try them in the window.
  • Tabs you stop using are archived, and you can restore them
  • Private tabs save no history and vanish when you quit

One bar for addresses, searches and your open tabs.

Press ⌘L and type. Kasumi works out whether you meant a site, a search or a tab you already have open. Try it on the right.

This is a demo of how Kasumi reads what you type. Nothing leaves this page.

Two pages at once, without a second window.

Drag a tab to the edge of the page and it splits. Drag the divider to give one side more room, swap the sides, or stack them. Try the divider.

  • ⇧⌘\ toggles split view
  • ⌥⌘S swaps the panes, ⌥⌘L switches between stacked and side by side
  • Click a pane to focus it

Project board

An agent that does the clicking.

Press ⇧⌘A, say what you want, and Kasumi reads the page and clicks, types and scrolls for you. It works in one tab, shows a moving edge while it’s in control, and has a stop button.

  • It asks first before buying, sending, posting or deleting
  • It never types passwords or card details
  • Text on a web page is treated as content, never as orders
  • Bring your own Anthropic API key. It stays in your Keychain and you pay Anthropic directly

The details people usually ask about.

Privacy

A built-in ad and tracker blocker with filter lists that update, a per-site allowlist and a shield button in the toolbar.

Passkeys work. Search suggestions and history can be turned off.

Reading and pages

Find in page, reader view, forced dark pages, mute a tab, and page zoom that’s remembered per site.

Save a page as PDF, copy or save a screenshot, view the source, or use picture in picture.

Links

Copy a clean link without the tracking junk, copy a link as Markdown, or open whatever is on your clipboard in a new tab.

Bring your browser with you

Import logins, bookmarks and history from Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera, Comet, Firefox, Zen and Safari, or from an exported bookmarks file.

Passwords and extensions stay behind.

Extensions

Install extensions from the Chrome Web Store and use them from the toolbar. Kasumi suggests uBlock Origin Lite for network-level blocking, including on YouTube.

What works depends on what WebKit allows, so a few Chrome extensions won’t run.

Everything else

Quick math in the command bar: type 12*(3+4) and press Return to copy the answer. Cooldown timers for Spaces where you want a break between visits. Tab sorting by site, close duplicates, reopen closed tabs. Settings live inside the window, so they work in full screen.

You can also let AI chat sites use your Mac, with an approval prompt for each action and an activity log.
